Praying
Scripture
Our
Lord Jesus Christ set the example of using God's Word as a powerful
weapon. He rebuked Satan's temptations, answered his critics, and
publicly prayed using the words of Scripture. As we follow His example
and pray God's Word we have the confidence that our Heavenly Father:
- Is
faithful to keep His promises given to us in His Word
- Always
answers favorably when we pray according to His Will which is revealed
in His Word
- Gives
us ideas of how to pray about particular situations or needs in
His Word
This
calendar includes Scripture for each day and a suggestion for prayer
based on that verse. Use it to do one or more of the following:
- Remind
God of His promise about a particular need
- Use
a promise fulfilled as a reason for praise
- Apply
the Scripture to our particular situation
- Praise
God for His character as shown in the verse
- Pray
expectantly for His will as explained in the verse
